Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown announced this morning that City Hall's dome will be lit in red, black and green tonight as well as on June 19th. The lighting is part of the city's recognition of Juneteenth, a holiday that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. This year marks the 45th year that Buffalo has celebrated the holiday with a festival. A two day virtual celebration will be presented today and tomorrow, instead of the usual gatherings in Martin Luther King, Jr. Park.

Participants can join by visiting Juneteenth-of-Buffalo-dot-com.

Saturday & Sunday 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.
