Look up in the sky Tuesday and you will see an aerial tribute to area healthcare workers.
The 914th Air Refueling Wing, based at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, has announced it will stage a training flyover next week to salute the healthcare workers who are working on the frontlines battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
A KC-135 tanker from the Falls air base will be joined by F-35 jets from the Vermont Air National Guard in a required aerial refueling operation May 12. However, the formation will begin over Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport, then fly over heathcare facilties in Niagara Falls, North Tonawanda, Amherst, Cheektowaga, South Buffalo, downtown Buffalo and along Main Street to the VA Medical Center on Bailey Avenue, before ending over Kenmore Mercy Hospital in the Town of Tonawanda.
The 914th reminds everyone to practice social distancing when watching the air show. It will begin at 11:45 a.m. over Lockport and end at 12:12 p.m. over Kenmore.
