North Tonawanda fire victim identified

Niagara County Coroner Joseph Mantione has announced the identity of the victim of an early morning fire on April 18 in North Tonawanda.

Michael Edler, 53, was found near the back door of his home at 26 Third Avenue, and declared dead at the scene. The cause of the 5 a.m. fire has not yet been determined.

Property damage was listed at $96,000, with an additional $50,000 loss to contents. Damage was also reported at a neighboring house, and a resident there was treated for smoke inhalation.
