Erie County to reopen its two golf courses Friday

Erie County
Elma Meadows (l) and Grover Cleveland golf courses will re-open Friday.

The Erie County Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry has announced plans to open the county's two golf courses this Friday, weather permitting. Operating hours at Elma Meadows and Grover Cleveland will be 7 a.m.-8 p.m., seven days a week. However, there will be no access to locker rooms, restrooms or concessions.

Portable toilets will be available. No carts will be rented, and no rakes or ball washers will be available on the courses. There also will be no tournament or league play.

Golfers will be encouraged to remain at least six feet apart at all times and not share equipment or remove the flag sticks from holes. No cash will be accepted and reservations must be made online.

Mark Wozniak, WBFO's local All Things Considered host, has been at WBFO since mid-1978.
