Mayor Byron Brown is asking city residents to take ten minutes of time on this Sunday to complete their 2020 census forms.
Brown said the city's response rate so far is 38 percent, below the national average of just over 49 percent. He's asking the public to help improve that rate to 45 percent by midnight tonight.
"I am challenging all (residents) to take just ten minutes this weekend to fill out (their) Census 2020 form, and share the attached graphic with friends and family, urging them to do the same," Brown said.
Brown warns that without an accurate count of residents, Buffalo could lose hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding, dollars that he says will be key to the city's recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.
