The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases as of March 30.

The spread of COVID-19 in Niagara County serves as an another example of the impact of the virus.

According to the Niagara County Health Department, two 1-year-old children have tested positive for the virus. That brings the county's number of confirmed cases to 51, a total that nearly doubled over the weekend.

Public Health Director Daniel Stapleton said the patients in the county with COVID-19 now range in age from one to 83. Those currently in isolation total 44, while seven people have recovered.

The Health Department reported Niagara Falls and Wheatfield have shown the highest number of cases, with 10 each. North Tonawanda and the City and Town of Lockport have six confirmed cases each, while Lewiston has four, Pendelton has three, Porter and Newfane have two each, Somerset and the Town of Niagara have reported one case each.
