Two alarms were called out to a fire that engulfed two houses on Hopkins Street near South Park Avenue on the city's south side at around 9 a.m. Monday.
There were early concerns that someone may have been trapped in one of the houses, but all people were quickly accounted for and there were no injuries reported.
Damage was heavy to both houses, estimated at over $250,000. The structures are scheduled for emergency demolition.
There was also exposure damage to a third neighboring home. The Red Cross said it is helping nine individuals, including one child.
