Chautauqua County has issued a boil water order for residents in the Village of Brocton and Town of Portland following a water main break. Officials say that all water used for drinking and cooking should be boiled first. Outside water use will not be allowed, and water should not be used for filling swimming pools, washing cars or watering lawns and gardens.
Mandatory water use restrictions will continue until further notice.
Bottled water is being made available at the Brocton Fire hall until 1 PM today for residents in the Water Dristric.
