The Movement to Restore Trust has released its full 68-page report of recommendations to Bishop Richard Malone in March to help heal the diocese. The report expands upon the Executive Summary and nine foundational themes released to the public, and agreed to "in general support" by the bishop in the spring. Perhaps most notably, however, it also expresses in much stronger language "the enormous anger in the diocese over the sex abuse crisis" and "the need for transformational culture change" in the diocese.
WBFO's Marian Hetherly talked with MRT organizer John Hurley, President of Canisius College, about the recommendations and the task of making them a reality.
WBFO also reached out to the Buffalo Catholic Diocese and received this response from spokesperson Kathy Spangler:
