Car crashes into Tonawanda apartment building, injuring two people

Town of Tonawanda police responded to the latest incident of a vehicle crashing into a building. This time, police say it happened just after 7 p.m. Tuesday and two people were hospitalized.

Police say they responded to the Ken-Ton Presbyterian Village Apartments on Delaware Avenue to find a vehicle had driven across Delaware, continued through the apartments' parking lot, struck a parked vehicle, then struck the building, causing substantial damage.

Police say the driver of the vehicle was Edward Harris. He was transported to Erie County Medical Center with serious injuries and is now listed in fair condition.

A female resident of the apartments, Lida Alminate, was also injured by debris from the crash. She is also at ECMC with serious physical injuries.

There have been no charges yet, but the investigation continues.
