On this first day of March, WBFO is beginning a celebration of Women's History Month with a feature series  we are calling "Savvy Over 60."

Western New York is fortunate to have a diverse talent pool of women who have been uniquely influential for many years. The sexism of the 1970s and '80s may have defined their early career, but not their self or destiny. And along the way, they have helped elevate other women and our region.

WBFO's Marian Hetherly talked with 10 of these savvy women, now age 60 and over, to find out what inspires them to continually inspire others. Look for these features Wednesday mornings in March, on-air and online.
