A boil water advisory continues Thursday in the Village of Albion.
About 12:30 a.m. New Year's Day, the village water system lost pressure due to a break in a 10-inch main. When a water main loses pressure, the village warns it increases the chance that untreated water and harmful microbes can enter the water.
Residents in the Main Street Business District, north of Erie Canal to Bacon Road South, are advised to bring tap water to a rolling boil, boil for one minute and cool before using - or use bottled water certified for sale by the New York State Department of Health.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and preparing food until further notice.
