Plane lands safely after triggering airport alert

An alert was called at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport late Thursday morning after a plane heading to Florida experienced difficulty. A notice know as an Alert 2 went out at 11:15 a.m. It signals that an aircraft is having difficulties and is at risk of an accident.

According to an NFTA spokesperson, a Learjet 60 experienced gear door issues after it departed Buffalo en route to Fort Lauderdale. There were two pilots and two passengers on board.

The plane landed safely just before noon.
