Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Friday that he will be sending state resources to aid in the relief efforts of areas affected by Hurricane Florence. Those resources will include troops from the National Guard along with plenty of equipment.

"We have equipment, and we have trucks, and we have generators, and we're only several hours away from the Carolinas. So, we could be extraordinarily helpful, if they need it."

Also included in the hurricane relief effort will be Blackhawk helicopters and rescue watercraft. The governor is also seeking clearance to allow for drones to assist with the rescue and relief efforts.

The New York State Department of Transportation is deploying crews to aid with traffic signal repair, tree removal and other necessary duties.
