Artists of many stripes will be gathering today to celebrate their creativity at the 16th annual Music is Art festival. The day-long lineup includes more than 150 bands and 136 deejays on 21 stages. Diversity is the name of the game as there will be dancers and other artists as well. Robby Takac, a member of the highly successful band the Goo Goo Dolls and the founder of Music is Art, states that the call for artist's drew an incredible response.

"Almost seven hundred people applied. Seven hundred bands and artists applied, and less than half of those are able to be accommodated on grounds of our official situation. But feel free to bring your easel, man. Feel free to bring your guitar, because we won't stop you here. That's what is all about."

Festivities will take place at Riverworks and at River Fest Park.

Music is Art runs from 11 AM today thru 2 AM tomorrow. It is family-friendly, free to attend. There will be a Kids' Village and an instrument zoo. Food and beverages will be available.
