Andy Dalton's foundation thanking Bills fans through donation to Roswell Park

Twitter

Long-suffering Buffalo Bills fans displayed an outpouring of gratitude earlier this year for the man who helped the Bills end a 17-year playoff drought. Now, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton and his wife Jordan are giving back in the form of a donation to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dalton's miraculous last-second touchdown pass in last season's final game led his team to a win over the Baltimore Ravens and gave Bills their first playoff berth since 1999. Bills fans responded immediately, donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to Dalton's foundation, which provides support and resources to the families of sick children in the Cincinnati area.

In a message posted on Twitter Wednesday, Dalton and his wife Jordan announced an upcoming visit to Buffalo.

"We just want to say thank you for all the support that you've given us this year. It's been amazing to see all the donations that have come in for our foundation," Andy Dalton said.

An estimated 16,000 Bills fans donated more than $360,000 to the Daltons' foundation following that touchdown pass. The Andy and Jordan Dalton Foundation provides support and resources to the families of sick children in the Cincinnati area.

"We're so thankful for everything that y'all have done for us, for our community, the families in our community through our foundation, that we want to give back to y'all," said Jordan Dalton.

In a reply on Twitter, Roswell Park tweeted back. "We are so grateful that you have chosen to give back to Buffalo and thought of our patients! Your incredible support means so much. Thank you to everyone who made this possible by celebrating an exciting moment in such an impactful way."

The  donation will be made on the day the Bengals play the Bills in a preseason game on August 26.
