One woman dies, another wounded in latest incident of gun violence

Gun violence in Buffalo has claimed another life. Buffalo police report the latest shooting happened Saturday night on the 100 block of Hagen Street.

Two women were struck by gunfire during a dispute at a house party. One of the victims, a 26-year-old female from Buffalo, was taken to the Erie County Medical Center where she later died. The other, a 36-year-old woman also from Buffalo, was treated at ECMC. Her wounds were not believed to be life threatening.

The shooting came just hours after a rally in an East Side neigborhood against gun violence. Community activists had gathered with neighborhood residents on Butler Street, where a mother was shot to death in the presence of her children on Thursday.
