Young's TLC Daycare 2 in Buffalo

Another local daycare center has been closed by the state. This time it is Young's TLC Daycare 2 on Broadway in Buffalo, while the license of a Cheektowaga provider is pending revocation.

The New York State Office of Children and Family Services, which regulates daycare centers, has revoked the license of Young's TLC for its latest violations: using corporal punishment on children, failing to eliminate safety hazards to children and exceeding the number and age of children that can be served at the center.

The 3 1/2-year-old business was licensed to serve up to 12 children, ages 6 weeks to 12 years and 4 additional school-aged children.

These latest violations come after Young's was cited in February. The state said it failed to provide at least one caregiver to every two children under the age of two. Young's also had violations in January, February and July of 2017.

CFS also says the license of Watch Me Grow Daycare Center of WNY on Union Road in Cheektowaga is pending revocation for multiple violations over the last two years, including the use of corporal punishment, failing to report child abuse and failing to employ suitable staff. Watch Me Grow was licensed in August 2000 and has a capacity of 104 children, from infants to school age.
