Buffalo daycare program suspended after 2-year-old in critical condition

A 2-year-old girl in critical condition at Oishei Children's Hospital after a rescue call to a Buffalo daycare center.

Buffalo Police say they responded to the call at Mozee's Ultimate Family Daycare Monday just before 3:30 p.m. Detectives say only that while at the daycare center, the 2-year-old became unresponsive. They continue to investigate.

New York State is also investigating. The state Office of Children and Family Services issued WBFO a statement, saying it "has suspended the child care program from operating, effective immediately" and is continuing "its comprehensive investigation of the circumstances surrounding the injuries to this child."

Desiree Mozee is the owner of the daycare center. According to her Linkedin profile, she has been running the Glenwood Avenue center since April 2010 and was a drug counselor at Erie County Medical Center, Sheehan Hospital and AIDS Community Services of WNY before that.
