File Photo

The Erie County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a body that was found in Lake Erie on June 20.

The Sheriff’s Marine Unit recovered a white male, described as 5'7", approximately 129 pounds and about 45-50 years old. The man has dark facial hair on the chin, but is bald on top. He wearing Wrangler blue jeans with no belt, a dark-colored pull-over underneath a dark-colored jacket, white socks but no shoes.

The Sheriff says the medical examiner did collect dental impressions, fingerprints and a DNA blood sample, but was unable to identify the person. Detectives have searched databases and contacted Canadian authorities with no luck.

Anyone who may have information about this individual is asked to contact the Erie County Sheriff’s Office at 858-2903 and reference CL# 18 – 048945.
