Man fatally struck by train identified

Authorities have identified the man who was struck and killed by a train Tuesday.

Town of Tonawanda Police say a northbound Amtrak train struck and killed Eric Damon, 43, of the town about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. It happened on the railroad tracks in the area of Sheridan Drive and Military Road.

Town and railroad police officers are actively investigating the incident.
