Rochester lawyer accused of wire fraud

A Rochester lawyer has been accused of "double-dipping" and illegally receiving retirement benefits from New York State. Diane M. Cecero has been ordered to repay the state nearly $160,000 after falsely filing for the benefits. Cecero has been employed by New York State in the Attorney General's Office and Monroe Community College.

She applied for the benefit in 2008 while still working for the SUNY system. A wire fraud charge will be dropped if restitution is paid in 18 months.

The legal agreement does not require Cecero to formally admit to wrongdoing.
