The new USS Little Rock is finally on its way to its home base in Florida.
The combat ship was commissioned in Buffalo last December, next to its namesake moored at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park.
The Little Rock was stranded because of ice in Montreal on Christmas Eve and had been there ever since. The ship resumed its voyage Saturday.
It's scheduled to visit several ports before reaching its permanent home in Mayport, Florida.
