The eighth annual Buffalo Soup-Fest is Sunday. Thirty restaurants will offer 70 different soups from 11am to 6pm at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.
The restaurants will be competing for various awards. There will be live music and local beer from Flying Bison.
Soup-Fest organizer Matt Carlucci says soup is the ultimate comfort food.
"Something about soup brings you back to your childhood," Carlucci said. "It's a comfort zone. You get soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. You feel like you're at your grandma's house."
The Soup-Fest usually attracts some five to seven thousand people.
A portion of the proceeds from this year's Soup-Fest will be donated to Friends of the Night People and the Empty Bowls Program.
