The University at Buffalo has a strong connection with NASA, with a number of alumni serving the administration on a variety of projects. Possibly the most recognized alum is Gregory Jarvis, who was killed when the space shuttle Challenger exploded in 1986. Former NASA leader Charles Bolden will be on the campus Monday, meeting students and touring the school's engineering labs.

UB students are currently building satellites that NASA will use to track space debris.
