Two house fires cause over $160,000 in damages

Two fires damage four buildings in the overnight hours on Sunday.

Fire crews rushed to a fire at a Buffalo home on Lakeview Avenue around midnight. Neighbors heard explosions coming from the home and told crews they speculated a meth lab was inside. Firefighters and hazmat crews found no evidence of a meth lab and said the explosions could have been caused by a number of things. The fire spread to a cottage and garage causing an estimated $150,000 total in damage.

Another fire happened shortly after midnight at a two-family home in Lockport causing $13,000 in damages. The fire was out before 2 a.m.

No one was injured in either fire.
