NYS Park Police identify body pulled from Lake Ontario as “daredevil”

WBFO News file photo

The body pulled from Lake Ontario in Youngstown, New York earlier this week was that of a stuntman.  New York State Park Police said the body was positively identified as Kirk Jones of Spring Hill, Florida.

Jones was a daredevil who survived going over Niagara Falls in 2003. His body was discovered in the Village of Youngstown by a fisherman.

Police report that Jones was in the Niagara Falls area back in April and there were sightings of a so-called spinning ball along the rapids of the falls.

Investigators believe he was, once again, attempted to go over the Falls while inside the ball.  It is believed he fell out and died. State Police continue to investigate.
