Conditions were nearly perfect for Sunday's Buffalo Marathon. It was run under plenty of sunshine with temperatures in the 50s when the starting gun sounded at 6:30am.
The men's winner was Kiplangat Tisia of Rochester with a time of 2:21:04. Bizuwork Kasaye of New York City was the first female finisher at 2:39:26.
$15,000 in prize money was awarded in various categories.
Thousands of runners participated. According to the Buffalo News, entries for the full marathon were down from previous years. But the half marathon sold out.
