A State Supreme Court has decided against a petition filed by a former Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority Commissioner. Joseph Mascia was removed from his post by Mayor Brown after a recording surfaced of Mascia using racial slurs. The petition refuted Brown's authority in the case as Mascia was not appointed by the mayor but was a tenant-elected commissioner. Mascia also contended he was given an unfair hearing.
The court denied both of those claims, and the judge even offered praise to the hearing officer in the case.
