Weather advisories continue for WNY

Lake effect snow is expected to return to Buffalo today, though it is not likely to cripple traffic as was the case during the Wednesday afternoon commute. Jeff Wood of the National Weather Service believes the city will see another inch to three inches of snow, with heavier snowfall hitting parts of Niagara and Orleans Counties.

Woods says severe wind chills will impact the entire region through Saturday when temperatures will rise into the forties. Lake effect snow could be intense for some locales, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a variety of alerts.

A Lake Effect Snow Warning continues through 7 p.m. for Cattaraugus and Chautauqua Counties.

A Winter Weather Advisory runs through 5 a.m.  for Southern Erie, Wyoming, Niagara and Orleans Counties.

Northern Erie County, including the city of Buffalo, and Genesee County will be under a Winter Weather Advisory from 1 p.m. today through 5 a.m. Friday.

Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. - 10 a.m.
