Road patrol increased for Thanksgiving holiday

New York State Police

Thanksgiving Day is around the corner and police will be increasing road patrols through the holiday and holiday weekend.

Governor Andrew Cuomo says starting Wednesday state and local law enforcement will crack down on drunk or distracted driving and under aged drinking. Unmarked cars, sobriety check points and bar sweeps are a few tactics that will be used to ensure road safety.

Last year over 350 drivers were arrested for drunk or impaired driving.
