The Springville High School football field will be hosting a vigil today in memory of Alyssa Hearn. Hearn is the 7-year-old student who was killed on Friday afternoon when she became pinned beneath the school bus that she had just disembarked from. Erie County Sheriff's deputies continue to investigate how the accident occurred. Counseling services will be available through the Springville-Griffith School District, and superintendent Kimberly Moritz is encouraging anyone affected by the loss to seek assistance.
Today's vigil will begin at 1 PM. A Go Fund Me page has raised nearly $40,000 in Hearn's memory.
