Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane will face non-criminal harassment charges for his actions at a Chippewa Street bar last month, according to a report in The Buffalo News.
The charges stem from Kane allegedly grabbing two women, one by the neck at the Bottoms Up bar on the early morning of June 24. Kane is also said to have had physical altercations with two other people that morning. The report says Kane was also aggressive with a third woman and a bouncer at the bar.
The charges are reportedly supported by witness testimony and surveillance video. There has been no official comment from the city's police department. No charges have been filed at this time.
Earlier this year, Kane was cleared of wrongdoing in a probe by the police department's sex offense squad and the Erie County District Attorney's Office. The division was looking into an incident that allegedly took place with a woman at a downtown Buffalo hotel last December.
Kane's attorney, Paul Cambria, denies his client did anything wrong and told The News the truth will come out in court.
