The LGBTQ community holds a Candlelight Wish Celebration Tuesday at the Evergreen Commons in Buffalo in celebration of Buffalo Pride's 25th anniversary. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the celebration starting at 7:30 p.m.
The free event is open to the public and takes a then-and-now look at how far the community has come since Buffalo's first public Pride event in 1991 and how much farther it still needs to go. WBFO's Marian Hetherly talked with organizer Carol Speser for a preview of the celebration, which has taken on a greater significance in the wake of the Orlando shootings.
