Body of second drowned boy recovered at Letchworth Park

State Police have recovered the body of the second boy who drowned after an incident at Letchworth State Park Saturday evening. Troopers said that late Tuesday afternoon, an underwater recovery team from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and State Police found the body of  9-year-old Dylan Giangregorio in the Genesee River below the Lower Falls.

Dylan’s body was taken to the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s office. The body of his brother, six-year-old Preston Giangregorio, was recovered on Sunday afternoon.

Dylan and Preston attended the Brockport Central School District, where Preston was in kindergarten and Dylan was a 3rd grader. Five others, two men and three girls,  were rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment on Saturday night.

Police described the group as an extended family from the Rochester area. Authorities said they were playing in the water Saturday night and one person slipped, causing  a ripple effect that caused them all to plunge over the falls.
