A two-alarm fire in the Kenfield neighborhood of Buffalo this morning is out, but  not before damaging three homes. Buffalo Fire Commissioner Garnell Whitfield said eight people were safely evacuated from the three homes engulfed on Hazelwood Avenue near Easton Avenue. He said it appears the fire started on the porch of one home, then spread to the home on either side. Whitfield said a vehicle also was on fire.

The middle home where the fire is thought to have originated will have to be torn down due to extensive damage. The other two homes sustained considerable damage as well.

A mayday call went out during the fight because one firefighter went unaccounted for. He was found unharmed. Fire officials are investigating  the cause of the fire.
