Supporters of Republican presidential candidate John Kasich are going door-to-door around Erie and Niagara Counties Saturday. They're seeking voter support in advance of Tuesday's presidential primary in New York.

State Assemblyman Ray Walter is supporting Kasich. Walter was asked by WBFO's Mike Desmond about the key issue in this campaign.

"Jobs certainly are one," Walter said. "He has a good record in Ohio, which is similar to Western New York. He turned things around in Ohio. He can do the same thing here and across the nation."

There are about 60 volunteers canvassing for Kasich.

Polls show him trailing Republican front-runner Donald Trump but ahead of Ted Cruz in New York.

Trump will hold a rally Monday night at the First Niagara Center. Rally tickets are now available at the Trump website.
