In an effort to clear its name, the Buffalo Urban League is taking the Office of Erie County Comptroller Stefan Mychajliw to court. The Urban League contends that Mychajliw's December 9th report is "filled with factual errors - and does not follow accounting standards."
Buffalo Urban League President and CEO Brenda McDuffie says the non-profit has been providing vital services in the community for nearly 90 years.
"We have built a reputation as an organization that strives for excellence in our delivery of services, and that reputation has been tainted."
McDuffie says Mychajliw's report was followed by false public statements about the Urban League not tied to the review.
In a written statement, Mychajliw said, "We stand by the work of our auditors."
A court date is set for May 10th.
