Limb by limb, re-treeing nears goal

Re-Tree WNY

A group that was formed to replace trees lost in a Buffalo snowstorm 10 years ago says it's getting close to achieving its goal.  Re-Tree WNY set out to plant 30,000 trees after the "October Surprise'' storm saw countless trees that had yet to lose their leaves bend and break under the weight of heavy snow.  The group, which relies on donations and volunteers, plans to plant 437 trees this Saturday.  Re-Tree founder Paul Maurer says that will push the total planted so far to over 28,000.
