A trip that began in Nevada has been hitting all points north and south to the country’s east coast made a stop in Buffalo on Friday. Members of National Nurses United have been traveling by bus to build support for Democratic Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders. To prepare for the trip, NNU Co-President Jean Ross says the group wrapped up their so-called “Big Red Bernie Bus.”

“And we have volunteers getting on and hopping off every so many states. Some of us are on the bus for weeks at a time, some of us for days at a time. We talk to people about why we support Bernie Sanders as nurses and supporters come up to us and those who haven’t made up their minds actually listen and we’ve converted several people.”

When Sanders, himself, arrives for a rally in Buffalo on Monday evening, the big red bus will have already moved on to other parts of New York State.

Ross says the nurses won’t stop campaigning until Sanders gets the Democratic nomination.
