Orchard Park police investigating apparent murder-suicide

Chris Caya, wbfo

The investigation continues into what police are calling a murder-suicide in Orchard Park.

Orchard Park Police Chief Mark Pacholec says police were called to a home on Queens Place off Route 20A Tuesday night. Pacholek says a relative who stopped by for a visit found 51-year-old Ruby Stiglmeier and 53-year-old David Lewczyk dead inside the home. He says Stiglmeier was shot three times before Lewczyk turned the gun on himself.

"The couple had domestic incident on the sixth of December. She reported it on the seventh of December. There was an incident where he came and destroyed some property in the home.  Took some property and started a small fire in the garage," Pacholec said.

Lewczyk, who lived in Panama, 80-miles south of Buffalo, turned himself in in January and was charged with felony criminal mischief, petit larceny and arson. He was due back in court late next month.

Pacholec is asking anyone who may have communicated with either Stiglmeier or Lewczyk in the 24-hours before Tuesday night to contact Orchard Park Police Detectives.
