A Niagara Falls police officer is hospitalized after his patrol car slammed into a retail business.Police say the officer was responding to a call around 10 p.m. Tuesday when he lost control of his cruiser and crashed into the front of the Family Dollar store on Pine Avenue. The impact caused extensive damage to a corner of the building and demolished the car's front end.
Officials say the officer was taken to a Buffalo hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. Two employees who were inside the store at the time of the crash weren't injured.
There is no word on what caused the accident.
