Local supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders turned out for a big rally in Buffalo Saturday.
The “Barnstorm for Bernie” event was held at the Buffalo Irish Center less than a month before what is turning out to be a crucial primary in New York.
Rally organizers say volunteers are needed to make phone calls and knock on doors on behalf of Sanders prior to the April 19th primary.
Polls show Hillary Clinton, who once served as a US Senator from New York, leading Sanders in the state. But Sanders swept three western caucuses yesterday, building momentum that his local supporters say could narrow the margin between the two in New York.
