Thousands turned out Saturday for the "Old Neighborhood" St. Patrick's Day parade in Buffalo's old First Ward.
People decked out in green gathered along the parade route to watch the passing floats and bands. Parade organizers say it was all about tradition.
There were no major incidents though Buffalo police did say they issued 40 citations for open containers.
Buffalo's official St. Patrick's Day Parade is Sunday, starting at 2:00 along Delaware Avenue. The sun will be giving way to clouds but there is no precipitation in the forecast. Highs will be in the lower 40s, but winds will be light.
