Another annual round of repairs is coming to Ralph Wilson Stadium. Under the terms of the lease with the Buffalo Bills, taxpayers will cover much of the $7 million cost.
The lease requires significant maintenance repairs each year. County Public Works Commissioner John Loffredo says this year it's just under $5 million from the county, Albany and the team
Loffredo says the team is putting between $2-3 million of its own money into the administration building, starting with lobby improvements.
"They're renovating that [administration building]. Then, they're renovating two team meeting rooms. This is all on their own dime," Loffredo said.
Loffredo says the costs run up.
"They're adding to the second floor. They're adding a scouting room, what they call a scouting room, and then on the field house wall, you've seen it already, these big banners, 40 foot banners."
Loffredo says most of the maintenance work isn't very visible, with one exception. That's replacement of the practice rug in the team field house. He says it's been in use so long it's showing significant wear.
