Section of Ellicott street closing to vehicle traffic

Beginning Monday February 1, Ellicott Street between High and Goodrich Streets will be closed to vehicles and have limited foot traffic.

The closing is a safety precaution as work begins for the new John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital. The Buffalo General Medical Center says  the entrance at the corner of High and Ellicott Streets will remain open. Patients and family members needing handicap friendly access should use the valet entrance at either the Gates Vascular Institute, accessed via North street or Buffalo General Medical Center on High Street.

Ellicott Street is set to reopen the first week of March.
