An attorney for Amigone Funeral Home notified state officials two weeks ago that Amigone would resume cremating bodies at its Sheridan Drive location today. However, State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is looking to stop the move.
Schneiderman says his office went to Court on Wednesday.
"We're standing with the community...and keeping very close track of it, as we have been for a number of years," Schneiderman said.
Though a judge did not grant a temporary restraining order, Schneiderman says a hearing is set for February 17th. He says if Amigone restarts the crematory before then his office will "deal with it."
