ECMC board names Quatroche new CEO

ECMC

Erie County Medical Center has named a new Chief Executive Officer. ECMC's Board of Directors has appointed Acting CEO Thomas Quatroche Jr. to the permanent post.

Quatroche has been at ECMC for 11 years. He served for many years as Senior Vice President of Marketing, Planning and Business Development.

Board Chair Sharon Hanson says Quatroche has successfully transitioned into the position since former CEO Richard Cleland was removed due a personnel matter last November.

"ECMC is doing very well," says Hanson. "Our numbers are very good. We've accomplished a lot during this year, particularly because the seas were very calm during the transition for Tom to act as acting. Moving him right into the CEO position was the natural ascent for him at this point."

Hanson says ECMC's first priority now is to develop a new strategic plan, noting the hospital just completed it's previous one. She adds the Board has also voted to embark on a national search for a new Chief Operating Officer, a position which has also been vacant since last November.
