Metro Bus riders who find their stop snowed-in should contact the property owner, not the NFTA.
NFTA Executive Director Kimberley Minkel said there are over a thousand Metro Bus stops across the region, making it nearly impossible for the transit authority to maintain them.
"It's really the municipalities who are responsible for ensuring that they're cleared. We're not the property owner. It's the property owner who's responsible."
Minkel said she sent letters to municipal leaders in October asking for their cooperation in keeping bus stops and bus shelters accessible to the public.
