Schumer seeks to improve cell phone service

WBFO News photo by Eileen Buckley

Senator Charles Schumer wants to improve mobile phone service for New Yorkers. This after several of his own calls had dropped in the same location.

On Sunday, Schumer invited New Yorkers who use cell phones to go to his website to list their dead zone locations and phone carriers. Schumer says the information they receive will allow his office to call cell phone providers and challenge them on the list of weak reception locations.

Schumer says in the case of an emergency, a weak reception could be dangerous.
